Hi there

Recently i tried playing crysis 3 via my hdtv at 1080p however i was getting a lower frame rate than on my monitor at the same resolution. So i was first wondering what would cause that?

However today i went to play tomb raider on the same tv and now each time i start a game the screen just goes blank and i have to restart the pc, but the games work fine back on my monitor so im a little confusedIf i run tomb raider without exclusive full screen option enabled, it loads up, but i want that on really and all other games dont have that option so its not really any help to me, the game runs better with it turned on onmy pc monitor

Any help would be great, when the game is supposed to boot the tv displays 1929x1080 60p in the top corner which i assume is correct but i cant see why this is suddenly happening, ive used the tv loads before for gaming*Any help with the orgiginal issue or this new one would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Matt

Make sure you have the refresh rate set properly in the game and in Windows. Even though it may say 1080p60 on your TV it could be the graphics card generating that output even though its set to a different setting. It could also be caused by any motion smoothing that your TV may have.

Its odd because i have played games through it no problem over the last few months and now suddenly this

When plugged into tv, ccc tells me the screen is 1920x1080p at 75hz, but i think i need that to be 60

But saying that, the top corner still reads 60p soo bit confused

Someone suggested it may be the tvs game mode but thats alway off so cant be that

Also i think the tv does have motion smoothing options but ive never touched tehm and its worked before but will try

Could it be a simple driver issue? Maybe if i completely uninstall the ccc abd drivers and reinstall them

Last night i went into the properties and set the refresh to 60hz and its the same i tomb raider but no difference, more detail in my previous post, thanks for tip

To eliminate the TV or the graphics card. Run FRAPS and get an fps reading from both the TV and the monitor. If it's the same, then it's more than likely a post processing issue with the TV screen. If it reads higher on the monitor than the TV then something else is going on.
Oh, disable vsync before you do this to eliminate refresh rates as an issue.

Do you mean to do this just on desktop or in game? If i go ingame on the tv i get a blank screen and have to force restart :(

Thanks! Ive got a few days off coming so ill give anything a go

*edit having said that crysis 3 did work originally on tv and fraps gave me about 30/40 at a certain point, i can redo that point on my monitor and see what i get

Crysis felt noticibly smoother on my monitor over tv tho without fraps telling me, i was able to crack the settings up on my monitor which i thought was odd
