Are You Ready!!!

September is the month when 40nm next generation architecture, something we call GT300 should get taped out. We can confirm that this has already happened and that some VIP analysts and investors have already laid eyes on this DirectX 11 card.

If you do the math, it takes at least six weeks after tape out to release the card and get it ready for full scale production and if the tape out occurred on the first days of September, the full production can start in the middle of October. It is always at least six weeks.

Nvidia was always aiming for a launch close to Black Friday, the first Friday after Thanksgiving and this year it is on November 27th. It is important to launch the product before this date as most of the shopping is usually done around this date.

If something goes wrong with Nvidia's schedule, they can easily start shipping in December time, but the worst case scenario is to show the card in the next few weeks just to keep the fanboys comfortable with waiting for the next Nvidia's DirectX 11 offering and ship it as soon as possible.

You might remember they did this with Geforce GTX 295 last year, and it did work for them.

Lets Play Cards!!!

I also posted in the big Nvidia yields bad thread, that Nvidia have confirmed the yields are fine, so here we go, here we go, here we go.... :D

Sounds interesting :)

In one of the reports I'd read from Fudzilla, the 40nm yields were up from TSMC. If the GT300 is supposedly a brand new design of chip, rather than just a revision, then it will be interesting to see how it compares to the 5xxxx series which is just an evolution of last gen :)

Yeah it is, but thats only because ATi didn't have to do a new design, Nvidia needed to as they got most of the features needed for Dx11 removed from Dx10, and they had them removed after ATi had done them. :)

it's comments like this that start the NV/ATI fanboy arguments.

back comments up with hard fact or just don't bother posting such drivle

Yup, always the same, its well known that Nvidia even do hotfix drivers as well, but they just won't see it.

Funny isn't it, so much for Dx11 not being important, they rushing their Dx11 GT300's out in November now :D

Shift runs bad for me, and look at my rig (in sig), juttery in places etc..., not smooth at all for me.

What was the point of making it 15% then? Not questioning you just a general confusion. lol

They cut the VAT to get everyone out spending (which was pretty dumb tbh, as no one was out spending due to having no money), trouble is though, now that everyones gone on major spending sprees seen as everythings got cheaper (and spent all the money they never had in the first place ), when they actually whack it back up, they are going to want all the money back they lost over the past year at 15%, so will more than likey go to 20% or something, so everyones going to be even worse off, as they are still going to have **** all, but everything will now have gone right up in price, making it even tougher to afford, and one eyed idiot will be sitting there going OWNED. :D

Exactly, it's also the case they're the first to release a new generation of gpu's before Nvidia.

Exactly, im all for them doing it, its good enough for Nvidia.

Look at when their 8800's were launched, BFG OC's were £535, and they stayed high priced for months and months, so you can't fault ATi for doing the same, unless your one of these people where its only allowed for Nvidia. :)
