Yes yes, "Its how much you can afford"....
Anyways.... What is the best calculation to work out justifying an upgrade?
Basically as a married man with 2 young children, i identified £800 i could use to upgrade. However, i shuddered at the thought of using that money for a GFX card and a monitor..... Especially when i could use the money to take them to pepper pig world for the 30th time this month.
A friend pointed out, "but mate, look at the cost and divide it by time spent gaming"... True, i thought... But is that the case........................ Maybe?
There are no doubt many mathematicians on this forum, so i'm throwing it out there:
QUESTION: "What % is it worth me upgrading based on my personal info?".
Factors:
Income
Disposable income
Upgrade cost
"Future proofing"
Time spent gaming
Free Time
Family Time
Likely performance increase (1-100)
I'd say:
( Free time - Family time) / (Upgrade cost / disposable income) x Time spent gaming =
Maybe make it a % of work the upgrade or something?
