Let me get this clear..

Intel versus AMD will depend on how much you value the best performance versus bang for buck. It also depends on whether you're a gamer, overclocker, encoder etc.

For more info on the i7 930, look at the review on www.overclock3d.net. That highlights the differences between it and the 920, showing you there's actually quite a lot between them.

When under good air cooling both of these chips should hit ~4GHz as they are both D0 stepping and will be limited by the cooling, not the motherboard BCLK or the CPU itself.

However, under water cooling the 930 should achieve higher maximum overclocks than the 920 as the higher multi means lower motherboard BCLKs are needed for mad speeds.

So there isn't really a massive difference - certainly not worth £60 imho.
