Lethal Weapon and films from the 80s!

Tonight I decided I would give the first Lethal Weapon a watch as I haven't seen it in quite a while. The action, story and characters are brilliant! Mel Gibsons hair was also "good". This film is just as good as ever! It is better than most films that are released today!

Thinking about it, a fair amount of action films from the 80s are actually really good. While they may be brainless action, new films dont really match it!

What do you think is the best series out of these 3:

Die Hard
Lethal Weapon
Beverley Hills Cop

I would personally say Lethal Weapon is better than Die Hard.
Lethal Weapon > Die Hard > Beverly Hills Cop.


Going to watch LW2 tomorrow.

I would go for Beverly Hills Cop as my first choice then Die Hard, and finally Leathal Weapon. Beverly Hills Cop is a classic film, soo funny and full of action. Its just a pity the third film is utter tripe

I would personally say Lethal Weapon is better than Die Hard.
Lethal Weapon > Die Hard > Beverly Hills Cop.

I concur, not many film series beat Lethal Weapon in my books.

Yea, if they're going to make action films these days it's just too easy to go down the computer effects.

The early Lethal Weapons were awesome.

Personally, as much as I love the Lethal Weapon films I'd go for Die Hard. Although, a few more for considerstion are :-

Dark Angel
Hard to Kill
Cobra
Commando

From the one's the OP's listed I'd opt for Lethal Weapon over Die Hard, it's all down to personal choice though

after bout 20mins considering them as a whole and not individual films.

HOWEVER best film of the 80's to sneak through to my generation has to be TOP GUN!!!!

The Terminator is the best action movie of the 80's.

The rest, in no particular order

Aliens, Commando, Predator, Lethal Weapon, Platoon (maybe stretching it a bit to call it an action film ), Raiders of the Lost Ark and others I have forgotten over the years.

Also i would recommend reading the book that Die Hard was based on. For me it is better than the film as these things usually are.

Then theres classics such as Terminator, Leathal Weapon, Indiana Jones etc
