Let's design a motherboard!

This might be a daft idea but I keep seeing people saying that they can't buy the spec they are looking for.

Below is a quick list we can expand on. I'll update as we go:

1) mATX, small seems in demand
2) decent vrms, power phases?
3) ability to run one high end GPU e.g. 1080ti
4) dual channel memory, 2 Dimm slots (2x 16GB)
5) One or two m.2 slots
6) Plenty of USB ports 6?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about motherboard design!

Lots & lots of USB ports or headers is also one the main things I look for..

4) dual channel memory, 4 slots?
I think 2x memory dimm slots would be fine on a Micro ATX board...

Am only using 2x16GB memory sticks in my ATX motherboard

1) mATX is ideal for my uses, yes
2) monster VRM section. I want stone cold barely-need-a-heatsink at 300 watts levels of overkill. Then put proper heatsinks with 50 fins and twin heatpipes on it anyway. I know what good tech looks like and plastic covers and RGB isn't it.
3) with mATX there is no reason not to allow 2x GPUs, and the slots are always compatible with smaller devices so...
4) I personally want 4 slots of memory because I can imagine a time when I'll want 64gb. I do however get that there's a performance/stability gain from just 2 slots so...
5) 2 m.2 slots. It would be nice if both were PCI-E 4x but lanes are limited so maybe one has to be sata.
6) 8 USB rear + internal header for at least 4 more. I've got 8 devices plugged in right now.

...and my personal additions:

7) keep the m.2 slots out from behind the GPU heatsink(s)! They do NOT like being in cramped, hot spaces with no airflow.
8) 2x USB C, again, why not? It's a thing now, let's admit it
9) debugging code/LEDs on the board because it would be so nice to know which bit doesn't work with that new overclock
10) dual bios with easy revert to backup. There is no excuse for single bios enthusiast boards.
11) HDMI + displayport. We have no idea what people will want to drop into this, so let them have options while discarding legacy (DVI/VGA) ports.
12) built in WIFI AC would be nice, but not essential
13) lowest priority, but RGB isn't a terrible thing for a bit of fun. Don't sacrifice any of the above for it though.
