Haha that was me posting in the other thread about what I'm listening to.
Voice Of The Beehive were just simply fantastic. They should have been much more successful than they were if promoted properly. That clip above is classic VOTB right there in the very early days. They had quite a following in the alt pop, rock scenes and did lots of gigs at student union type places. Their first single into the UK charts was huge. They jack nothing in the US for the most part with only the little college stations playing them occasionally. This may be surprising as the 2 girls are Californian gals who moved to London in around 1986 specifically to set up a band.
My friend and I knew both Tracey and Melissa somewhat. Despite a wacky appearance at times, both were really down to earth and real sweet.
