Lets have a 90's console war....

All I wanted when I was a kid was an N64, all my friends were getting PS1s and I just constantly saved up for an N64. I remember going to blackpool with family and my grandad giving me the final pocket money I needed for my N64. (I'd saved up everything, every 50p I got for the tuck shop at school, every odd game of cards my grandad would lose to me. Everything).

So my Grandad drove us back from blackpool via the local game shop, what a feeling. I had no games, so my uncle borrowed some and brought them over. Playing Mario 64 and Mario Kart 64 were just incredible at the time. N64 still sticks with me as the best console of it's time due.

I played so many N64 games at the time, and completed everything I got. Unlike games of today, where I'll play for a few hours and get bored. The only expection is my Wii U....

I loved the PlayStation and have very fond memories of the GameCube and dreamcast but I have to agree the N64 is probably the one I loved the most.

N64 star fox. I remember doing both routes to that game. I think as a kid you're more into games then as a adult. Attention span dies out quickly because it's same stuff different year.

Dual analog sticks, THPS 2, Gran Turismo, 1997/8 in general-what a time to be a gamer.

Never really understood the n64 controller. My neighbour had one and we had tons of fun doing 4 player goldeneye on a tiny 14" CRT but the controller never really felt natural!

Im also a big fan of the Dreamcast.

WCW vs NWO was amazing! especially at the time me and my mates were all into watching Nitro each week! :D

It was actually a tight wrestling game, probably the best there has been.

Yeah, thats still my favourite wrestling game. Though my mum had a weird thing about the next one (Revenge) where it was the only game she didnt let me play. I didnt mind though as i was allowed to play other, more violent games

Playstation all the way for me when i first got to play GTA, Tenchu (what a game!) and the old WWF wrestling games round my friends with the multitap!

I owned all 3 at some stage.

But for me n64

For sure mutliplayer joy nothing beat it. My friends even bought their own controller so they could play. There was something special about 4 people been huddled around 1 tv. Our golden eye sessions got really competitive i knew some of the maps so well i just look at the walls when moving so people looking at my screen couldn't see where i was.

Golden eye, star fox, mario kart, diddy kong racing. perfect dark, smash brothers, the wrestling games, f zero, iss. Not forgetting all the great single player games on it also.

I loved my saturn but it was always behind ps even though it had some great games like sega rally virtual cop and fighter, gurdian heroes.

My friends all had ps i think it was the first cool console to own. games like gta, metal gear, wipe out, resident evil, tomb raider seem aimed more towards the teens to older gamers.

I ended up getting my own after having a operation they had a ps in the hospital so i was playing gran turismo. So my mum got me a ps as a treat when i got out. I think they had been out awhile and the price had dropped a lot. I got gran turismo with it and final fantasy 7.

I remember not liking ff7 at first but after i put a few hours into it i was hooked problem is i didn't have a memory card i had to leave my ps on 2-3 days be4 i was able to get a memory card and save my game.
