FIA make the rules, imagine if FOTA did breakaway [not beyond the realms of possibility trust me] What would you have us do?

Well as far as i am concerned you are racing. You would'nt tell a 100M sprinter he can only consume so much Oxygen.

Honestly I don't know. I want you guys to be given freedom to do what you do best, invent and create crazy **** that makes cars go fast. On the flip side, with less restrictions I'd fear that only those teams with mega bucks would be able to take part to a degree. Though if more of the money went to the teams then they could all probably compete just fine

Ultimately I want you all to sit down, all the dudes with brains like planets, and work out exactly what few rules you would need to put in place so that

a) a car can follow fairly close behind another in a fast corner
b) you don't spend every minute and every £ in the wind tunnel trying to achieve 100% aero efficiency
c) cars can't go flat through Turn 8 and maybe even 130R.
d) cars remain safe. So that probably means still not allowing them much over 200mph ish by whatever means be it aero limiting or maybe fuel flow limiting or whatever.

And finally stop going to circuits that don't offer overtaking opportunities. I'm sorry that that probably includes Monaco for the most part but that's what I think.

A quote once forwarded to me, " You know how to make a small fortune from F1? Start with a large one"

Nothing else i can add with regard to your piost

It would be good to go back to the V10 and turbos but going with a fuel limit. Also investigations to be completed within 10 or 15 laps or no action can be taken. Wider tyres would also help get the mechanical grip back which could push the less reliance on aero.

Do you think that they have not being trying to achieve this for years? Everyone says more mechanical grip, it wont work. Designers will circumnavigate any rules. Wider tyres,ok,we will change the aero and a team will find a loophole. Its what F1 is, if the rules are not pushed to the limit, then whats the point?

Forget the 2013 1.6 turbo era, the big boys dont give a flying **** about it as they know it wont happen,if the FIA push for it [which they wont] they will be left wifh GP2 and made a laughing stock.

I want to see the racing we had in the early 80's but, things move on. Life is like that, you adapt and change.

Does that mean you agree or understand me or that i'm going to get beaten up at some point this week? lol

Not at all, F1 at the end of the day is a business, wether in our case its a marketing exercise [we are just a fizzy drinks company] afterall,or your a car producer. The end result is you invest a lot of money for bragging rights. Thats all it boils down to.

Yes.Whats wrong with that? Madrid pay Ronaldo something like 35m a year yet,the FIA propose running a team of 400 people, plus develop 2 racing cars on 40m.Who is the crazy one?

I would love you to see the material PO/s alone to realize how crazy the FIA are. They think nothing of charging circuits like Abu Dhabi 26mil to host a one off event yet expect the people competing to do it on a shoestring. As far as the teams[FOTA] are concerned, the FIA are a joke.

Right, will check the thread tomorrow got to goto bed as i have work tomorrow [unpaid of course] wouldnt want to break the RRS!!!!
