Let's hope Microsoft doesn't enter RIAA territory.

lol i fail to see how anyone can stick up for this guy

in my view he either :

a) knew the pc's had pirate software on them and was getting them on the cheap , possibly charging the school full price and pocketing the excess ?

b) knew the software was pirated but hoped to save the school some money ie condoning theft . hardly an ideal subject to be taught in school

c) thought the software was legitimate in which case he should disclose the source of the pc's and show all the receipts in which case i would assume he would be in the clear .

if i have to pay for my OS why the hell shouldn't russian schoolkids or anyone else for that matter ?

if you dont like the price of windows then run linux instead !

Your Option C is the most likely.

Also, might I point out that most people have never heard of Linux, and even more assume that Windows is actually built-in to a PC... Many who hav eheard of Linux think its some program that you need to install into windows!?!?!?!

None of us know any of the real facts of this...

Sure, its possible that he is guilty as sin, has been a l33t haxxor 51nce d4y 0n3 and he knew exactly what he was doing and knew the concequences, but then again, its more likely that he has just done what 99% of the population have done, and that is that he has bought a load of PCs for the school as cheply as possible, and now he has been stung because the suppliers have done one on him?

We dont know the fact, and 2 pages hardly give us the complete picture do they?

I think before we judge, we need to know a lot more than whats been typed down on 2 pages.
