Personally I dont think there was anythign wrong with either of your first 2 specs, and think a few ppl are trying to drag this out just for the sake of a laugh

This is not much over your original £800 limit and includes a 480 in a i5 system with decent mobo (could go for gigabyte UD3 if you prefer) the Sapphire PSU (which is a rebranded Enermax) and reasonable case/aftermarket cooler, the HDD is maybe not upto scratch with rest of components but is still perfectly good

That's because Intel hasn't been rehashing/tweaking the same architecture for the pass 7 years...and AM3 has already be confirm as deadend as well since the next gen AMD CPU would need AM3+ socket and is not backward compatable on AM3 and older boards.

At the moment AMD can't compete head to head with Intel on performance, so they offer lower price as their selling point instead.

That's good too. I haven't really been bothered to pay too much attention to this thread because of a certain eyesore, but if Scone want Win 7 with a build that got a GTX470 for under £800, then the AMD build is the only way to go.
