Well anyone else like going on cruises for holidays.

Wife and I caught the liking for cruises a few years ago. At the start we were worried it was going to be all full of old people. We are both 38. We went on first one and loved it. Now have a 4 year old son and he has been on 5 cruises with us. They have some much on board to do for kids and adults.

We currently cruising with royal Caribbean due to the casino loyalty program so I get big discounts on the fares. Next cruise booked for January on Oasis of the seas around the Caribbean.

Anyone else spend time on the high seas. :)

Yep we love cruising too. My wife doesn't like flying so we go from Southampton for our cruises. We've done 3 so far and have the 4th booked next year. Our previous cruises have been with RC but their prices from Southampton are quite expensive now so we've booked in for MSC Virtuosa, 14 nights around the med.

A few snaps from my last cruise.

Yeah RC is expensive Only reason I go with them is casino rewards. I got two adults and one child for a week in Caribbean in January for $900. Just have to buy flights to miami and hotel for few nights. (But this is due to me being fond of the casino )

I have been on the MSC Virtuosa a few years ago. Its a great ship. Its massive. Only bigger one Ive been on is wonder of the seas.

Have you been out to Norway from Southampton? I have been twice love norway

i dont get it. The pictures generally look like you live in shopping centre while floating and then sometimes stop with thousands of others so it will be busy.
I dont really want to spend money on it from looks to give it a go.

I'm yet to go on a cruise and for some reason, despite me not discussing it with anyone or searching for cruises, my YouTube feed started getting filled up with recommendations from "Emma Cruises" a few months ago and watching a few of those made me want to go on a cruise even more. Let's face it, it's an ultimate island holiday, except that the island moves.

I love the idea but it's the cost that puts me off. My brother did a two week MSC cruise from Southampton to Scotland, Iceland and Norway then back to Southampton a couple of months ago. The base cost for him was £1200, he spent another £500 on excursions and in the first week, he spent around £400 on board.

And that's MSC who are a budget cruise line.

i dont get it.

Best way to think of it is the cruise ship is the hotel that travels to different destinations almost every day. One morning I'll wake up in Lisbon and head out for the day and explore, then next morning I'll be somewhere completely different. You'll have a handful of sea days which are basically lounge by the pool days and do activities like surfing, sky diving simulation, VR trampolines, bumper cars, crazy slides, ice rink shows, etc.

A few snaps across the cruise when in port:

i would need 3 rooms as i have too many kids, i cannot see anything that's made for normal people not dentist money.

I like waking up some place new everyday and exploring. Most of the times we do our own thing and only do excursions for things hard to get to. Then any sea days is spent by the pool or on water slides with the child.

And if anyone is lucky enough to go to the Caribbean like we have been RC private island is brillant so well thought out and loads to do.

Yeah I follow emma cruises on YT. She brings good advice and tips and shows what cruising is like.

If anyone is a gambler I would recommend looking into the Casino royale Program RC has. As I have been on my last 3 cruises for "free" they call it free but you have to pay taxes and tips. Also have to be willing to play a fair amount in the casino.

Went on a Caribbean one on the Celebrity Summit around 20 years ago (sister was getting married when we stopped in Barbados) and loved, been trying to get the wife to go on one since but the nearest I’ve got her to go on is an overnighted from Hull to Zeebrugge

Yeah been on a few , it’s a great way to see plenty of places and be looked after. We tend to book the trips now so it takes away any hassle.
We prefer smaller ships, we have been on larger ones, but so much queueing to get on or off.
Booked up for next May
