i have nearly finished crysis but it now freezes everytime it goes to save a checkpoint, i can only ctrl/alt/del to get out of the game, is there a cheat to open up the levels if i have to re-install the game. if not can you tell me where the save game folder is so i can save it, although i suspect this is where the problem is.... any ideas ???

Yes. In Devmode there is a hotkey (F2 I think) to skip between parts of different levels, allowing you to skip near to the end of each level and complete it 
I can't remember how to get into devmode though. Google it. You can also go into a third person mode by pressing F1, which is pretty cool.

download the little file from Crymod called Crysis Launcher.
It finds all the levels in your folders & you just click one & it fires up the game & loads the level, its a must :
