We had some great weather over the weekend and some amazingly colourful sunsets. I had forgotten my 5D1 when over at the in-laws but luckily the wife had her 600D and kit lens so managed to get the following from the back garden :)

Then on Monday I decided early on that I would head again to the westside but to two amazing beaches only 5 minutes apart to capture a few more. The first is taken from Dalbeag beach and then the second a few miles along the road at Dalmor, both are just as nice as the other, will be making return trips to these over the next few months for a few more types of shot.

These are 3 shot HDR's shot 2 stops apart, merged in Photomatix. Not much done after that except cropping.

Thanks, yes great place to be when the weather is good :)

do you use lightroom and photoshop? if so and you work quickly you can do up to a ten stops and use PS merge to HDR pro, convert it to a 32bit image, save as a tiff, import to LR and the possibilities are endless + you dont get that HDR effect.... just an image with subtle detail ;)

The first one is alright actually, although could do with taking the Saturation down slightly on orange (only slightly to be fair).

HDR in #2 and #3 definitely seem overdone to me.
