OcUK Chefs!

About two years ago I went to St Lucia. During this time we went on a tour of the rain forest, stopped of at many farms and the fruit was amazing.

However, on the way back we stopped in the town the guides lived in. They brought out a something that didnt look like much but tasted fantastic.

It was in a sort of wrap and the insides were white ish, thats about all I can remember of it, just straight off the fire.

If you know/can find out what it is, thanks in advance :)

Wow. Good luck with that.

What was it? Sweet, savoury, fish, fruit, meat?

Saying "it was white-ish" doesn't really help!

PS did you do exactly the same thing in St Lucia and Bermuda? :D

I wrote Bermuda at first, then I remembered it was St Lucia, not Bermuda :)

No idea what food it was, I suppose it was sweetish.

EDIT: No idea why it double posted... went into advanced edit and changed the title :p

Peymi

Peymi is a mixture of cornmeal, flour, and coconut, seasoned with cinnamon, nutmeg, and sugar to taste. Its wrapped in a plantain or banana leaf, and it has to be boiled until it gets a dumpling like texture.

Might have been simpler to google in the first place :p

Looks tasty, though. We had some great food in Indonesia when I was hiking in the rainforest there.
