Hi all,

My brother is visiting from New Zealand from 28th Sept to 11th Oct this year and Id really like to take him to a premier league football game.

Problem is, Im not a member of any club.

I live in North London, about 15 mins walk from the Emirates.

On Saturday 29th Sept Arsenal host Chelsea and Fulham host Man City. Id prefer to take him to Arenal vs Chelsea but due to the popularity of the fixture, these tickets will never go on general sale.

I could potentially get a match package to that game via Thomas Cook sport, but at £250 per ticket including a worthless (to me) night in a hotel, Im very hesitant.

He would be happy with Fulham vs City also, and tickets for that go on sale tomorrow to members (£25 membership fee), and general sale on the 17th. Whether they make it to general sale for that game I have no idea.

Can anyone offer any advice as to what my best course of action would be here? I havent ever bought tickets to a premier league game before and Im at a loss as to what would be the best thing to do.

Thanks in advance

You could try looking for a supporters club, and get the tickets from them ?

I watched Man U v Porto a while ago, and we did it because the supporters club laid on coaches and had season tickets so we used them for one game all we had to do was pay for travel on the coach and for the tickets for a day which was about £70 iirc and that was coming from oxford !

Was that midweek? Yeah I am aware that the CL midweek fixtures arent too bad for tickets, been to a couple myself at the Emirates on a random Tuesday/Wednesday.

This years CL match day 2 falls on Oct 2nd/3rd (not sure if Arsenal will be home or away that week though), but Id like a premier league fixture if possible.

You'd probably have more luck with QPR - West Ham, especially as it's also on TV, Monday 1st. Can't say it would be a game I'd want to watch though!

West Ham have a decent supporter base and QPR don't have a massive ground...

What you want to do is look into Fulham games at home, they have some "neutral" bit they pile some of the away fans in and some people that just want to see prem football.

That or keep using Barclays cash machines as they are giving away free tickets on the back of the advice slips.

You should be fine getting tickets at Fulham. There's even a neutral section at Fulham because they usually don't fill the ground with their own fans.

Thanks all for the advice.

Ive spoke to someone at the Fulham ticket office and he said that there should be general sale tickets available for that game, so Im going to try for that next Friday.

Thanks again.
