and when you get bored of it add some mods personally i love the star trek mods for it but the starwars one is also epic

I'm in a similar boat to the OP.

Completed SC2, no interest in the MP as the learning curve is utterly retarded.
Total War series isn't for me, I like to build bases.
Can't get along with Company of Heroes.
Total Annhilation/Supreme Commander both played and been done to death.
World in Conflict has no bases IIRC?
C&C First Decade already got and love, but want something a bit more modern and less crap than C&C4/RA3.
