I hate to write this - but played the left for 2 demo and it made me less enthusiastic about waiting for the game. :(

It looks like some half-cut mod for left for dead 1-- but with none of the atmosphere.

Its not aweful. But its about what I'd expect if I'd downloaded a free 'full mod' for left for dead 1. Its what I'd expect for '6 German kids in a clan spent 4 months, look how they managed to edit leftfordead 1' .. not 'A professional software house took over a year, it's a brand new game' ....

Am I the only one who, 10 minutes into the demo, started thinking 'eeerr .. is this really it then?' as a slight sinking feeling appears ...?

:\

I agree with Spunj.

Played the 360 demo first time and I thought it was pretty terrible.

Tried it again and I enjoyed it more!

I wont be buying L4D2, too much of the same for my liking HOWEVER I can see how others will buy it as if you really liked the first one, what is there not to like.

I think the full game will be a lot better than the demo. I found the demo:

1. Too easy
2. Too bright (too much daylight)
3. Too short

But from the trailers and gameplay videos I've seen the other campaigns mix it up quite a bit.

As Spunj99 said, play it again.

I originally downloaded it for the pc, played it once (on normal) got bored and deleted it. It was only reading a preview for it did I realise I missed half of the content (the lower difficulties mean less hordes, thus less suspense). I re-downloaded it, wacked the difficulty up to expert and went online.

The crescendo event is  (especially when one of your team enrages a witch and they don't know why the (relatively normal looking) infected woman won't drop easily like the others (cue frantic efforts to kill her before she kills everyone else).

Epic fun! (as is Boomer bile - Pipe bomb....... Kaboom..Splat :D)

I'd agree, to an extent, it does feel a bit L4D+ than a true sequel especially at the beginning. But the more you play it the more you start to notice little differences here and there. Plus remember it is only one part of one level.
I clubbed in with four clan mates for the four pack deal so it only cost £20 (only paid £18 for the first one), so I think it'll be worth it.

I was initially taken back by the demo (not least because I have the multicore rendering bug) but playing it through again (and again, and again lol) I've come to love it in its own way. I still think that daylight is a bit weird and am mainly looking forward to the night campaigns but they've made some really nice additions/tweaks.

They need to do a helluva lot of bug fixing though as the demo is rife with niggles and a couple of gamebreakers too.

I absolutely loved the demo and have played it through 20+ times. It's like Left 4 Dead but every single part is a little bit better and I can't wait for the full game to be released.

I personally really liked it, and have bought it as part of the 4 pack deal. I can see why people might not like the day time affect that much, I personally prefer night time, but there are lots of improvements over L4D1 in my opinion.

I played the demo yesterday and it looks ok I guess...but whilst playing it I couldn't help but think I'd get just as bored of L4D2 as I did the first one, but sooner.

Don't get me wrong, I really liked playing L4D online but after a while it just got so ******* boring.

I think I'll pass on this one.

It threw me off a bit, initially loved it and then went back to L4D1 and realised things had changed quite a lot. I've got the game pre-ordered anyway so we'll see how things are.

Dunno why people are basing there dislike on 1 part of a campaign that's set in day light anyway?!

Look at the beta stuff - loads of swamp night time maps (1st campaign??)

I like the variation of night and day i hope they its a 50-50 split.

L4D was gash if you dont play it with either 3 or 7 mates... this will be no different

After the fail that MW2 is gonna be im pinning all my game hopes on this lol

the thing is when Left4Dead was released it was something new and therefore fresh and exciting, whereas the demo of L4D2 just doesnt feel inspiring.. now before anyone moans at me, I know the full game has more content and 'maybe' the levels are better designed but the demo simply doesnt give me trouser movement :( and its all too 'samey' to the first.. (not a bad thing)

Luckily I will be able to play it round at a few budski's so I can make another judgement call on the full release, and I'm well aware that solo the game is average and that for full zombie mashing fun you need to play with mates.. afterall I played L4D for a looooong time..

now, Dead Rising 2 on PC, that's a game I am looking forward too ... /hides

I didn't think much to L4D2 demo, played it 5-6 times that is it. Uninstalled it. I have been playing L4d for 1 year now daily. The reason I think the demo was a bit rubbish is the following:

It was not Vs mode

That is where L4D2 will shine when it is released
