LFS min. spec

Anyone know what it is?

Thanks.

Something like a 286 33Mhz powered by a gerbil.

Nate

(seriously it doesn't take much to run at all, very efficient program really)

Edit Found it:- The minimum recommended spec is 1GHz with a recent graphics card, but it may run on lower spec PCs than that, so try it and see. AMD Athlon XP 1600+/256MB+ DDR/GPU with hardware vertex shading support is barely adequate for full LFS experience, any slower than that and you're going to have FPS problems with fullfield online races and more than 8 AI-players.

Unoffical LFS manual is here :- http://www.lfswiki.net/

Hmm good question. I just checked the LFS site and I can't find a definitive minimum or recommended spec.

I did find a thread on the LFS forum about LFS rigs and a spec me an LFS PC thread. Those ought to give you some idea of the specs people are running for LFS.

This site, http://lfsbench.iron.eu.org/?c=completemax, seems to be where people benchmark their PCs for LFS. I've only just found it today looking for spec info for you.

Personally I run a 3700, Epox 9NPA Ultra, 2Gb Corsair RAM, 1x74Gb Raptor, 1x250 WD SATA2 HDD and an x1800 512Mb gfx card and LFS looks damn good and fast with that spec.

Thanks for quick replies :)

Spec is:
- P4 2.53Ghz
- 256Mb PC800 RDRAM
- 80Gb hard drive
- Some Geforce4 Ti series card (think it's 64Mb) :p

Will be running at 1024x768.

I can run it fine at 1024x768 with all the settings on max.

AthlonXp 2ghz
512mb pc2700 ram
geforce ti4800se

So i think you should be ok if you have all the settings on low. Although anymore then about 5 cars on the screen might lag you .

Youll be fine. It smore CPU intensive than GFX intensive. I used to run it on an old MX420 fine back before S1 was even released.
