I am thinking of purchasing the LG 26LX2R LCD HDTV and was wondering if anyone knows if the HDMI port supports PC input, in other words can i connect my PC to the HDMI port using a DVI > HDMI adapter without getting overscan and sellect PC mode from the on screen display using the remote control.
Also how good is this TV's quality and picture, i know it supports PC input through the DVI port but i would still like to know if it is possible through the HDMI port without getting overscan in the same way as the DVI port.
It would be great if someone could also point me to a place i can download the manual for this TV because i can't seem to find it on the LG website.

Thanks!

I have the 32" of this version, it has scart s-video, vga, hdmi & DVI the difference between the later is HDMI carries audio as well as the picture where as DVI is only picture, but the connection and output quality is exactly the same. I am not sure what you mean by overscan, with mine connected 1360*768 with 1:1 pixel, very very clear for pc, outstanding on DVD. Maybe someone else can shed some light on the overscan bit!

Yes the LG supports 1:1 pixel mapping over the HDMI port as well as the DVI port. It is one of the few TV's that do. No overscan to worry about. Just set the input on the TV to HDMI-PC mode and all is well. :)

Thanks so much for that, i have looked all over the place and couldn't find the answer, the reason why i would like to connect my PC through HDMI with 1:1 pixel mapping is it is so much easier to connect and disconnect, also NVIDIA and ATI are releasing graphics cards sometime this year with an HDMI port, so it will be even easier to connect/disconnect if i need to move the PC.

No problem matey. Both the DVI and HDMI ports are also HDCP compliant and thus will have no problems displaying HD material once Windows Vista becomes available.

If by any chance you have any problems with HDCP compliancy over the HDMI port then this is down to a firmware issue and LG will upgrade the firmware for you free of charge. All recent sets are fine so you shouldn't have a problem, just thought I would let you know though in case you somehow got a set from old stock or something. Very unlikely of course so there is little to worry about. :)

Thanks, it's nice to know about any issues that may arise and the info you have given me has helped me decide, so i will be ordering one at the weekend.

Thanks again!
