My pc is connected to my LG monitor via display port. I can't access bios or see post. I always thought this was due to the display port connection. Recently tried to install vmware on my server connecting to the same monitor using display port but couldn't see the bios post screen. I initially thought this was an issue with my hp server but after purchasing a Lenovo mini pc. I have the same issue yet again. It will boot into W10 but cannot see post or bios screen.

Connecting the dots and trying another monitor, I found all is well and it's my LG monitor causing the issue. Anyone shed any light on this ?

Try turning off DP 1.4 option if i has one in the monitors setting then try.

Ok, so downloaded the LG onscreen control software and it's saying I'm using the latest software.

Also I tried my Lenovo mini pc on my son's Samsung monitor and can access bios fine. Ive also tried a VGA cable from the Lenovo to my LG via a hdmi to VGA converter and no joy. Looking like I'm gonna have to buy a new monitor.

Is there by chance a "Deep Colour HDMI" (HDR) option? Or Instant Game Response type of option? If those or something similar to those are on the OSD menu, switch them off and see if that helps.

I had a similar issue on the LG CX, once I turned those (or related) options to off, I could see the BIOS boot up screen and BIOS again.

I've tried every alternative with my settings. Nothing fixes it.

OK, so I took a quick gander at the manual, and spot a few things potentially, just need you to confirm you've done something regarding them and still no go:

1. Tried setting Display Port to 1.2 or 1.1. Don't use 1.4 as it might try and use settings the monitor doesn't accept properly.
2. Response Time (In Game Adjust), make sure this is turned off or Normal.
3. Adaptive Sync is turned off. (Especially if using HDMI)
4. HDMI compatibility mode, try both on and off.

Note that SVGA to HDMI isn't a natural conversion so most likely your adapter wasn't suited to that job.

It may be a pain, but get a DisplayPort to HDMI cable and try that. It's a passive conversion so will be quite likely to function as expected. And just to confirm, you're loading into the BIOS right? The splash screen is likely to come and go too fast for the monitor to catch the signal and sync up.
