LG 27GP850-B

On the 10bit, it will help HDR games. However the higher colour gamut (not 10 bit related) will regress SDR games (most games) as colours will be over saturated, a sRGB mode mitigates this though.

If you not used to IPS glow and like high brightness then it may be a shock to the system, glow tends to be most evident in bottom corners.

I have an LG 27GP850 and a PlayStation 5 however the console doesn't yet support 1440p only 1080p and 4K.

Does anyone here have a similar setup or possibly advise if this monitor can downscale resolutions from 4K to 1440p as I'm unsure?

The monitor is great with Xbox Series X at 1440p and 120Hz.

Just got this monitor last week. The WCG was a bit of a shock to the system with everything appearing over saturated and everything seemed to have a red tint. I now have it in sRGB which is way better, I don’t know how some of you keep it in “vivid”.

The only major issue I’m having is, that when the monitor comes out standby mode, it re-arranges all my windows on my dual screen setup, as if the DP cable has been unplugged and plugged back in. I have tried updating the driver directly through device manager and installing the LG OSD software, none of that seems to make any difference. Looking online, it appears to be an issue with DisplayPort hot plugging and windows not doing it’s thing correctly. It’s easy to bypass on most monitors as there seems to be an option to turn it off, but alas, not on the GP850.

Have any of you had the same issue and if so, were you able to find a fix? My GPU is a RTX 3070.

The monitor will indeed down sample 4K to 1440p on ps5.

Recently purchased another GP850 however I've been unlucky with this order as it has a slight blue blemish swish and a blob in the panel. I'm now trying to arrange an RMA with OcUK but finding this rather long winded to get a reply and usually fairly swift to get this resolved?

Was wondering if someone could help me.
I've just picked up one of these monitors second hand. Was given the panel and the power lead/brick.

I'm using a displayport cable (unsure on spec)

I cannot seem to choose 165hz from the Nvidia control panel.
Max I can choose is 144hz.

Any ideas?

Thanks

165hz may be the overclock option, check the monitor’s menu for an option to overclock then it may show in nvidia control panel.

Any help me please?

I have this monitor a 32GP850-B

Im using a xbox series x my xbox settings are 1440p 120hz w/freesync

On the new codmw2 when switching weapons on bright camos I see a trail of blur on the screen if i am near grass it like smears onto grass or textures. motion blur and weapon blur etc all off in-game

I have also played around with monitor settings and xbox settings nothing I do stops the motion blur?

Does anyone else have this issue? I have had a look around online and can't find any problems with this monitor glowing reviews from rtings and youtube etc just seems odd its a issue?

Unless this is a game bug?

Sounds like an overdrive setting based on what you're describing.

What's your response time set to on the monitor? It should be under the 'game adjust' sub menu.

It's on normal but it doesn't matter what setting i put the overdrive on still there is blur same if i turn off freesync and select that motion blur reduction on its there which i all find very odd because reviews are really good

Hey does anyone know if it's possible to update the firmware on this monitor?

I've tried using the onscreen display app but it says the current version is the latest which I don't think is correct. In the release notes for OSD it also says it no longer supports firmware update for a raft of monitors, this one included.

Is there somewhere I can grab an older version which does support updating? Or possible to get a firmware file from somewhere to update manually?

Any reason why you need to update the firmware?

I've had this monitor since September 2021 with 4000 total hours in the 'power on time' from the info panel on the monitor and have never once touched the firmware.

My monitor has always had some weird issues waking from sleep I was hoping that a later firmware version might fix

Yep still loving mine, had hard usage and still going strong, hdr is pants on it but i play with it set to vivid mode and its spot on for me, excellent picture quality with very little bleed
