These are are pretty similar, 29", 1080p, freesync. One is curved the other is flat. Also maybe one is more accurate RGB range or something like that? The curved models is considerbly more expensive

Opinions between the two?

I bought the 29UC88 this week and so far it has been a joy to use. It has a 8 bit panel versus the 6 bit in the 29UM69G.

I can say that the colors and contrast level are pretty nice. Nice rich colors and deep black levels which I didn't expect and I have compared it to a Samsung 24CFG70 which has a va panel.

The UM69G has a 1ms motion blur reduction which if it's like the Samsung will strobe the backlight. I used it on the Samsung sometimes and it did an amazing job but you have to run the fps at the highest frames locked for best results.

You can't use Freesync at the same time though unless that's changed.

The stand on the UC88 is height adjustable and the UM69G isn't. A monitor arm will solve that problem though and give you swivel as both monitors can't.

The curved monitors have a higher chance of bleed and glow and the UM69G is flat and a newer model so maybe there is lower risk there.

I bought the UC88 two reasons.

Firstly Nexus18 did point the UM69G out to me but my reading comprehension sucked that day and secondly, the UM69G wasn't in stock at the place I bought it from.

This is a good price at the moment, however it's over a year old, I would expect a new version of this display to come out?

I have been looking at 24" 144hz 1080p screen, but a 29" is the same vertically in size and resolution, but wider. But it's only 75hz, compared to 144hz. I do get >75hz in games at 1920x1200 (2.3 million pixels) versus 2560x1080 (2.7 million pixels) I still should get >75hz.

75hz monitor is not a huge step up from 60hz. So ideally I'd like 29" UW 2560x1080 with 100hz.
