While I love my Hazro WD, I always intended to upgrade my LG DM2780D when passive 3D IPS screens were available.

A part of me would really love to go back to a single screen. It was fine having 2 screens when I could have them on opposite sides of the room, but I just find it a bit mess now being on a single desk, even with dual monitor arm to swap between whichever one is centred

As my desk is now quite deep and I would be further from screen than I am used to without using monitor arms, I was thinking about the LG 32 inch tele in title. But I know tele's can sometimes be a bit less than ideal for pc use.

Or would the Asus be better, even if smaller?

I am sure there was supposed to be a whole bunch of passive 3D ips screens out this year, but this Asus is the only one I can seem to find.

I am sure I could get used to the lower resolution again. I am really after simplicity. Plus, a single GTX 670 will power a 1080p screen for far longer :D

Still very undecided on what route to go. There is certainly no harm in sticking with what I have. It's just a bit messier than I would like.

Well, I just bit the bullet and hit order on the LG screen.

I do have my reservations, but the pros outweighed the cons... Still, may find in reality that it totally sucks for use as monitor.

But if it doens't... well, the only thing I will miss from my current setup is the res of the Hazro H27WD.

So far, so good.

Think it may be a keeper. No dead pixels, colour is good, and text doesn't look awful like I was worried it would.

I think my main concern was whether it would suffer terrible input lag, and initially it did, however once you figure out how to assign label of PC to the hdmi input, all is good on that front - if there is any lag now, it's not enough for me to notice personally.

Only down side I can find currently is a bit of banding on the Lagom.nl test.

I was at some point thinking about going for that same specific model. Actually, now there's 42LM620T for 599€ (~£480) in my country, but the offer won't last long, so I've been tempted. But 42" is kind of big for a monitor usage.

But could you check one thing for me:
It's said that labeling the input as PC bypasses some of the extra features. Could you check if the TruMotion is one of those?
(Yes, I know it's also one of the biggest reasons for input lag...)

Yes, it does bypass TruMotion.

On another note, all is great with the tele, in most senses, but the receiver I recently got (Pioneer VSX s300) appears to have a compatibility issue with PS3 3D and these LG screens.

Connecting PS3 direct to tele it runs 3D no problem. Connect it through the receiver and it results in pretty much a constant blank screen, though occasionally does get display a picture for a second.

Found someone with exact same issue here, but unfortunately, their solution was to replace with a Yamaha receiver.

I will have to get on to Richer Sounds/Pioneer/LG about the issue. Not entirely sure if it's a problem with LG or Pioneer, but I had no issues running 3D into my DM2780D...

Most annoying.

Seems like a nice purchase; Enjoy. :D

Can I ask have you tried it with an xbox360?
My present Plasma screen (LG 50PK590) Doesn't work with my 360.

Can you please post camera pictures of the TV displaying the PC images?
I may consider it to suppliment my PC also...

Are you suffering any eye strain after sustained use?

Not done much on 360, but yeah seems ok.

Also not spent any length of time playing really but should have a good go tomorrow.

I don't sit right on top of screen so imagine will be ok. Will update tomorrow

Sigh... Think maybe should go the other way with single 2560 screen. My aim with all recent changes was to make life simpler, but have the issues mentioned above with ps3, plus bf3 and skyrim now just crash on PC.

Nothing to do with screen am sure. But just not sure can deal with issues. Takes all fun out of gaming, and makes home more stressful than work. Just want stuff to work.

If don't get this stuff working tonight, think will just stick with my hazro, and be done with 3d gaming. Pity, cause I do like it, and do like the lg screen...

Thanks very much for the picture.
BTW: Lovely setup with desk, speakers an tv. :)

Can you move the camera slightly closer to encompass the screen only.
So I can see hoe clesrly it renders the desktop.
Many thanks.

Still not sure which way to go on this.

3D is becoming hassle - Workarounds needed for PS3, Tridef crashing games unless you do particular in certain stupid orders.

But when it works, it is great. There's just certain detail you miss in 2D. Some of it's small. It's like the difference between 1080p and 2560x1440p. It's not night and day different, but it's certainly noticeable.

Like Assassins Creed. 3D on that really does add something to the game when standing on rooftops and umping around.

Skyrim too. The depth it adds to dungeons and the like really adds to the experience.

Not so much BF3 for me though.

Sure there is a slight loss in quality, but that's compensated for in the 3D itself sometimes.

There is slight ghosting on high contrast items when panning fast, but I am not too fussed by that. I still find BF3 very playable on it. And while I am particular about a great many things, this is one thing that doesn't bother me too much.

Colours, contrast, blacks are awesome between both the Hazro and the LG 32LM620T. In fact, I would say blacks are better. I have always noticed ips glow on the Hazro, which I don't really notice on the LG (is it even IPS?), and the backlight is perfect on the LG - no clouding at all.

Viewing angles are superb on both obviously.

Though I used my glasses for the first time with the screen this morning, and noticed the slight horizontal lines that are a by-product of the polarised coating. It's barely noticeable, but not sure it would bother me.

Plus sides to the 32LM620T - larger screen(?), better blacks, not totally glossy, 3D should I want, easier to drive (less GPU power), very swish looking, more versatile (good for films, dual play, etc)

Plus sides to the Hazro - higher res, more responsive, monitor sleep mode

Down sides to the 32LM620T - not as fast and responsive, polarised layers visible (though barely pretty much only on white), 3D CAN BE HASSLE!

Down sides to the Hazro - totally glossy (much nicer than matte, but not as nice as light AG coating on the LG), some sources will be non-native res

Cheers, yes, it's a nice desk. Took ages to find something I liked. It's blimmin massive though!

Will try to get another pic tonight for you.

Trying to get to the bottom of the 3D issue between PS3, receiver and screen.

Pioneer say it's LG's problem, LG say it's Pioneers problem.

On to Richer Sounds to see if can get another make receiver, but no longer have boxes for the Pioneer.... I am guessing going to have no luck here either.

If I don't have any luck, am just giving up on the 3D thing. Am not letting it be the cause of more stress in my life.
