Hi guys. Me and a friend are thinking about getting an LG 32LV355T to replace our monitors. This TV seems to fit the bill. What are the implications of using a TV rather than a monitor? This one ha a 100HZ refresh rate and 300000:1 contrast ratio.

Cheers

It might be too slow for gaming purposes as the input lag on TVs is usually a lot higher than on monitors. Due to the "low" resolution (considering the screen size) everything doesn't look too good up to close. Most TVs also do a ton of post processing to polish up the image in all sorts of ways which aren't desirable when using it as a monitor. Usually there is something along the lines of a "PC Mode" which gets around most of the post processing.

Biggest drawback of them all.. your girlfriend will be watching some soap just when you want to read your mail/game/do whatever. Personally I wouldn't want to use a TV as the main/only monitor, to supplement a normal setup it works great though.
