The think main things that will stand out switching to that MSI screen will be

  • the lower vertical resolution, especiallly if you watch 4K content
  • the non standard aspect ratio for watching videos and/or sharing your screen.
  • the extra width of the UW screen
  • the better frame rate
The ultrawide is probably better for productivity assuming the lower vertical resolution is not a problem for what you do with it.

I've just switched from a 32" 4K to a 5440 x 1440 ultrawide and the vertical resolution is a bit of a deal breaker for me but mainly for gaming.

Ok, So is it worth switching to MSI for productivity purpose alone. I feel the current flat screen doesnt offer an immersive experience. Or stick with the current flat screen?

I feel 4k is better to view. My only issue with the current 4K LG 32" monitor is that the content on both sides of the screen is bit difficult to read. But I am not sure if I but a curved monitor it will solve this issue!
