Ive seen an LG 34UM68-P 34" superwide monitor for sale that I may buy.

Is it a decent monitor? I currently have a 27" 2560 x 1440 screen and im undecided if its worth changing over.

Do most games work nowadays at 2560 x 1080?

A 34" UW monitor will have the same physical height as your current 27" 16:9. The LG has a lower pixel density compared to your current monitor... personally, I wouldn't bother with this LG.

2560x1080 at 34" has a poor pixel density. If you're going to go to 34" you really need to go up in Res to 3440x1440. Of course those are much more expensive but worth it. While I couldn't go back to 16:9 myself (I have a LG 29" 2560x1080) with the monitor you have I'd probably stick with it and wait to go to the higher Res.

Ive had several both 29" and 34" 2560x1080 screens and they have been fine if all you do is gaming and some youtube/movie watching. That said if you are already on a 1440p monitor you may end up being bothered by the lower PPI. If you were to do the trade i would opt for the 144hz version even if it is a 150-200 quid more(you will still get a benefit even if you cant push 144fps). The good thing about going to a 2560x1080 in your case would be higher frame rates if your sig is to be believed.

As others said, you will be very disappointed with the pixel density compared to what you have. I went from a 4K monitor to a 100hz 3440x1440 gsync ultra-wide (x34A). I still question my decision.
