So I'm looking for a new gaming monitor and im looking to go ultrawide and I've managed to have an offer new from the bay £700 for a 34GK950F it's new sealed but I've done a bit of reading before committing and I see a lot of talk of bad ips bleed and panel failure so my question is, should I buy this at that price what is the LG QC like and failure rate and is it worth the ips lottery as it's a lot of money to drop on a screen?

Is the National Lottery or Euromillions worth it? The only safe bet is to buy an OLED TV where you know the panel tech is good and keep an eye on burn-in, which is something you have influence over.

Hi,

When you say 'new', is it from a reputable ebay shop, or someone who bought it and hasn't used it? Only, you mention failure rates and you'll need any warranty to be valid if it fails. If it's 2nd hand but unused, and new condition then you'll have no warranty unless it's transferable.

Though if it is the latter, they could post an image of the panel working to show the bleed, but some will now argue that would make it used.

30% off RRP for a reputable ebay shop bought one is good.

2nd hand but 'brand new in box' is fine for things like clothes, but not electronics you may need a warranty with, especially at £700

Would have to be 40-50% off for me to risk the latter.

Looks to be a normal person who is selling the monitor boxed brand new sealed. £300 is a nice amount to save which is why I ask if problems with this panel are frequent or rare as it's my dream monitor and almost worth the risk at that price

Did you end up buying it? What's your opinion on it?
