LG 34GK950G - Black horizontal lines

Turned on my 34GK950G this morning to find thin black horizontal pinstripes across the screen. Invisible at the very left hand side, but progressively darker to complete black on the right. Googling suggests the same thing has happened to others and it's terminal.

Not been in touch with LG yet, but since it was purchased (from here) in July 2018 they're not gonna be any help are they? Really *****d off that a £1000 product is likely scrap after three years.

Surprisingly, LG's support have passed it onto their technicians with the suggestion that they'll send a quote for repair.

Seems promising but I'm not sure how much I'll be willing to spend getting it sorted.

Just received a quote of £580 all inc. for a new screen. Pretty steep, but think I'm gonna have to suck it up.

Thanks for the suggestion. Included the question in my reply.

Their email also said "a 3 month recall period on all parts replaced" which I've asked for clarification on. If that means a 3 month guarantee on a replacement screen (whether new or refurbished) they can GTF.
