LG 42-inch OLED

I may be doing something wrong, but when playing games, HDR doesnt give much difference. Or am I not setting it up correctly?

Got TV back with a new panel in, all good and not cost me anything apart from having to wait 2 weeks (they had to wait for the panel to come into stock and JL to authorise it)

Feels super big again after using a 34" UW but my god have I missed the colours and black being black without IPS glow.

Yep, it feels great to get whole tv refreshed.
I also had to switch to regular IPS and was shocked how blacks look like - like dark grey backgrounds with fading areas, horrible.

Hi all, how are people finding their 42inch LG Oled? I've been looking at the LG 45 5k2k curved monitor but price is quite a bit plus out of stock everywhere.

Looked at the LG OLED42C44LA, can get it from RS with a 6 year warranty which is nice, it'll be used with my new pc (when I build it) along with PS5 and XSX.

Go for it, I got it from them few months ago and its amazing.

My only concern is I'm coming from dual 1080p 27" monitors, quite like the dual screen but I do think going a single larger 4k screen will be better.
Depends, if you need to have dual screens. SIngle screen, no matter how big, will be single screen. 42" is not big enough to use split screen for two applications horisontally.

TBF it's easy maths - 42" is 21 + 21 diagonally. So that means it's 4x 21" screens in a grid.

So you can get the width of dual 21" screens which is on the small side, but also only uses half the display as the top half is unused. So it's reasonably flexible for fitting 2 windows on.

Personally I liked 21:9 ultrawide (3440x1440) as I used to have a normal 16:9 1080p rectangle, and then a strip along the bottom for one window, and a chat/email client at the side column.

Instead of the C4 which seems to be out of stock in most places I'm looking at the C5 42 instead. Seems people have had a good experience from JL with warranty etc which is great to read about.

I think one of the reasons people were looking at the C4 recently was the sheer price for value. At £470ish with 5 years warranty its larger then 32 inch OLED and just as good - if not better ! The size was great for bedrooms and offices and ofc sold out at that price point
