LG 43UJ701V - Magic remote?

I'm considering this tv to replace my aging Panasonic plasma. I'm quite impressed with the spec for the price and have read a lot of positive reviews. One thing I've not seen a great deal on is the Magic remote?

Can anyone tell me what's 'magic' about it? Also, can I control this tv with a IR Logitech harmony?

The "magic" part is the gyroscope pointer, basically a cursor on the screen.

Oh that's good then, would be annoying if I couldn't use my existing remote (though would be a good excuse to upgrade....)

just surfed a video about the magic remote looks good for speeding up selection, and using virtual keyboards for search, was surpsised it works with youtube, ... and presumably Iplayer, obviously need a steady hand (or sit real close), but maybe more useful than voice control (parents have skyQ an imhop voice is meh)

So are there other 3rd party remotes that give the same functionality for other TV's (I assume Harmony doesn't)

The LG Magic remote is great and yeah it works with iplayer amazon ect at first its a little tricky but you soon get used to it and its become normal now.

There is also the LG app so you can use your phone to type/search or even just connect a bluetooth keyboard.

I was looking at the 49" version of this TV so went in by Currys to view it.
I was instantly put off by how thick the TV is all 80mm of it.
It's nearly as thick as my current plasma.If you go up to the 55" version it's a much nicer design.
