LG 48" C5 v G5

Has there been any info released on what the difference between these two will be other than possibly aesthetics? Read it doesn't have the 4 layer tech in the G5.

Pondering switching out my 42" C3 for one of the mentioned screens and if it will be worth it. Used for gaming primarily.

Only difference i can see is that the G5 supports 165Hz vs the C5s 144Hz and the G5 has a revised Alpha 11 Gen 2 chip vs C5 Alpha 9 Gen8 chip so that may bring about a slight brightness bump.

I know they could not do MLA at 42" well so they said but surely the new 4 layer tech is possible at lower sizes ?

The way they managed to get the G5 or tandem 1st gen panels down to 48" right off the bat gives super hope for the 42" market.

Keeping fingers crossed its next year or the down the road.

Agreed. I’d love to see some good options of 42” OLED or QD OLED monitors rather than TVs
