im looking at getting this display for gaming.currently im rocking a sapphire 7970 vapor x 3gb but will be getting a 980ti. from what i can find online it dose have 4:4:4 crome and can only be run at 4k@60hz if connected to an hdmi 2.0 graphics card. can anyone that owns this tv tell me how well it runs and if it will run at 60hz at a lower resolution or would I be stuck with 30hz untill i get the 980ti? im ready to buy this. just need to no these things before i go ahead.thanks

Problem with any tv is lag. Its about 3 or 4 frames from memory.

That would bother some people esp with fps.

yea but since the firmware update its changed. they allso updated the review giving it a recomendation if you look

i found this ..would this be a better option.. it dose not have hdmi 2.0 though but using display port gives 4k i dont no about 444 crome though or input lag :S is hdmi 2.0 needed? bit clueless and still on the search for the right display.

Maybe you should take a look at this Samsung:
http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/ue48ju7500-201504074038.htm

About the same price range as the LG, but only 21ms input lag, and a "Highly Recommended" review verdict. Against LG's 66ms and "Qualified Recommendation". From what I've seen, the Samsung is currently the fastest 4k TV which the hdtvtest.co.uk has tested.

As for the Philips, I can't say anything about that particular product, but I would strongly recommend AGAINST buying anything from Philips. I've been having major problems with their customer support with regards to my HDTV. We've been asking for firmware updates at their support forum, and even though they take and acknowledge our feedback (via multiple venues), they are simply ignoring them from that point on. Now it's been over two years, so now they've moved us to the "Legacy" subforum. Out of sight, out of mind. So just a fair warning against buying Philips products in general. (Anyone reading this should consider themselves warned.)

The link goes to 705, but the text says 706, so I'm assuming there was simply a typo. But indeed, the Sony KDL42W705B is the current input lag king among HDTVs, and it is quite competitive against most of the regular monitors, as well (14ms in LB-test). If 4k is not of concern, then that one is definitely the primary choice.

I would have gotten its predecessor (KDL42W653) myself, but unfortunately the review came too late, and I already purchased the Philips. Such an unlucky turn of events...

lol that tv is like over 1k my budget is 600 quid. i was thinking this samsung i would go for the Sony one but im looking for a 4k tv guys.

Aah, sorry. I only looked at the "Typical price" from the review, but didn't notice that the LG was a last year's model, so it seems to have come down drastically in price. :D

As for the Samsung, I can't say anything concrete. But on the bright side, looking at the other tested Samsung 4k TVs in 2015, all of them have low input lags. The model you're looking at hasn't been tested by hdtvtest.co.uk, but there is indeed a small chance that it is also sporting the same electronics behind it. All the other manufacturers' (tested) 4k TVs are around 40ms minimum in input lag, most of them in 60ms. For 4k TVs, Samsung indeed seems to be the input lag king, at the moment.

If you end up buying it, please be sure to chime back in with the results.

I have this TV.

Mainly use it for film watching duties which it does absolutely fine. Game wise it only has a 750ti connected to it so beyond South Park I'm not sure about 4k specific gaming, but it was fine with Saints Row and other controller centric games at 1440. Tried BF4 and csgo though and got my arse handed to me though so wouldn't recommend it so much for fps.

As far as the rest of the TV goes it's a good set, 4k Netflix is king!

nice...i think the samsung is going to be the one im going for..just waiting for one last respons from panasonic about there viera tx40cx400b as that looks pritty good ..and as for graphics cards..im hoping either a inno3d 980ti hybrid black or zotak 980ti amp extream will do the job :) if not i was thinking to sli the to if its possible on my motherbord. i think that would be sick
