So have been considering a new screen for a while, but don't want to spend ££££'s when I have an excellent projector setup downstairs (Sony HW40es).

It will be replacing a Panasonic GT30 in 50" size.

Was just wondering if anyone has any experience of this LG and how it might compare, picture wise, to the Panasonic.

Costco are doing it just now for £750 which is very tempting. I would maybe try to get John Lewis or RS or my local hifi guy to price match though for a longer warranty.

The brightness on this model (Inc 49&55) is quite low and banding is almost gaurenteed when watching football and viewing angles are pretty dire imo. PQ is generally good however and the OS is great. I returned mine due to the banding and low brightness compared to other similar tvs. Also HDR is standard considering its only a 8 bit panel but it does look decent. I choose a Samsung in the end after first getting a Hisense which was a billy bargain let down by poor firmware.

Always something around the corner. Typically I get a new one every 2 years and move tvs around the home and sell off one of the older ones. Sad state of affairs really when I feel the tv needs like it needs replacing like our phones. Still I do enjoy and use them a lot so I justify it. Some people obviously want a TV to last 8 years and there is nothing wrong with that.
