Im thinking of getting this phone (unbranded) and I've read mixed reviews but I want to know the strengths/weaknesses of the phone from actual owners.

Is this phone worth considering?
Is the s class UI user friendly? How about its "responsiveness"?
Is the web browser good? Does it play youtube properly?

I know there is an old thread about the arena, mostly saying how bad the phone is. But I think that was on an Orange-branded LG Arena right?

Avoid. the s-class is nothing special and is more gimmick than useful. the 3d display doesn't even show your stuff. It's just a generic image.
The camera quality is shocking.
The web browsing is slow compared to Iphone even when on wifi. And fairly often you will be left with a black block across the web site, where I assume it just hasn't rendered properly.
On mp3 playback change of tracks takes a long time and has a loud hiss. much like mp3 players from like 6+ years ago.
There's also problems with the software which affects some phones. But you can send them back for a swap.

I get on with it quite well now, but I certainly wouldn't buy it if I could choose again. I would be going Iphone or more likely Samsung OMNIA HD i8910

no idea. but I doubt it. that's the other problem. #
Despite having a nice big screen. The software will not allow you to play avi files above 320x whatever it is. Which sucks big time. Also you can't use the Divx film download as the phone does not accept the divx setup up file. Rather than lg fixing this,. they are making divx change their file. which works for everyone else.

Avoid like the plague. If I could I would go back in time and batter myself to within an inch of my life for even considering this POS.:(

No streaming of any kind over wifi.

Youtube quality sucks, it shows the videos in 220x176 and they look awful.

No DivX over 320x240.

Screen res is 800x480 but the max it can show movies is 720x480.

Music player is a joke. It cant remember the last track played it cant read ID3

tags properly. Massive loading time between tracks and it always goes to the

top of the list it cant remember where you were at.

GPS is slow lagging and weak.

Its pc software is diabolical and doesn't work properly on Vista.

Probably will not have any app support, and if it does it will probably not take

advantage of the screen res.

Phone is prone to crashes and restarts, get friendly with your battery cover cause you will be taking it off frequently.

Email has a max limit of 1mb for D/L and U/l.

Screen is practically unreadable in sun light.

And on and on and on...

I was looking at the HTC Touch Diamond 2, the only reason I went for the

Arena at the end was because it had copious amounts of metal in it

construction and a capacitive screen. My bad

AcidHell2 and muffins, thanks a lot for your input. You saved my money! What junk this phone is lol. A shame really cos the specs looked good on paper. I'll go for the diamond2 or omnia HD instead.

the arena is a very good phone but the omnia HD is better

depends on your budget really mate

the screen is very responsive and user friendly

but as mentioned videos is a killer (although i wouldnt be surprised if they fixed this with an upgrade - as the older lg phones play divx without a problem)

the other issue is youtube - apparently - (i've not tested) you can not play youtube via wi-fi (a fix is coming for this though)
