LG BP325 & External HDD Playback?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any work around. I have just bought a LG BP325 solely for playing media files of an external hard drive. However it doesn't recognise the hard drive. It's a strange one though I have tried 3 external hard drives and the last thing I tried was a 2TB Sata placed in a caddy dock and I plugged that into the DVD player and it recognised it? I then pulled the hard drive out of the one that wasn't working and tried that in the caddy dock in which the 2TB was working and it didn't recognise it? I have tried formatting it to exfat, ntfs and fat32 and still no luck? Any ideas?

It's got enough power I even tried it in a powered caddy :/

What partition type is supported, and what is your HD formatted to?

I'm not sure on the partition type however I have a 2TB in a caddy dock working fine on it. I just needed my portable hdd's working instead of plugging it in all the time. I have tried everything from exfat, ntfs and fat32 still no hope.

Maybe large capacity drives aren't supported? Try some USB sticks first

I have a 2TB in a Caddy Dock and that's working fine. I have 2 external hdds one 500GB and the other 750GB and neither are working. Kinda strange

maybe to do with the chipset in the USB box then? Not aall are the same, I remember having a USB box with certain chipset and had no end of problems

Could be what's the cheapest solution I literally just want something to playback from my external hdd?

Contact LG about requirements of the USB.
What about using LAN, with a network share HD or NAS?

I would but I've got the Virgin Hub and I can't even plug a USB in it haha. I'm snookered. If you google the model number of this player it really should play of an external! Grrrrrrr!
