I have a WD Nas, to which I have my DVD/BluRay collection ripped using Handbrake.
For years this has been on the same network as a Samsung Tv, and has worked Flawlessly.
Recently however, things have changed and need to use the CX, but I am getting issues as above.
Some files play, some don't. Did some googling, downloaded MediaInfo and compared a few rips.
To be fair, they are a bit of a mess with various different settings used over the years, including different versions of Handbrake.

What I can`t seem to find, or rather understand, is the common denominator between the files that work, and the files that don`t.
I know there was some issue on the CX regarding audio formats, could this be to blame?
Can anyone point me in the right direction? What should I be looking for?
All the files work fine on the Samsung, and also play fine in Windows, whatever I use to play them.

The CX won’t play DTS sound format.
Is that quite a common encoding setting for DVD`s and Handbrake?

So if it is indeed my original encoding settings that are incorrect, can it be "fixed" without re-encoding the whole file?
Unless I scour the loft for my DVD`s, any more encoding would surely degrade quality?

Do you have a sample file you could upload that has issue playing? I can then try it on my kodi box and TV
It will play fine, definitely on Kodi.
Works on my P7, works on my Tab S9, works on Kindle fire.
Its the convenience of the TV player that I am after. Don't really want yet another box.

At work at the minute, Are the screenshots from media info any good? Will report back later.

File should still play, just won't have sound
Wanted to re-visit this, as I have had a bit of time lately.

If I place the movie files that would not play, on a USB drive, and plug into to the LG CX, or the 2022 32" LG LCD in my daughter's room, they play perfectly fine.
If I try to play the exact same files via the NAS, on either TV, its says "File not supported, play next file?"

Would the supported file types be different via NAS than for USB storage?
