I have just bought the LG DM2780D monitor, and everything is fine but for those visible horizontal lines on the white and lighter coloured background.
The monitor is connected to the pc with a DVI to hdmi lead.
Anyone knows how to get rid of those lines? Is there a settings that will do that?
My last post don't seem to have appeared on this thread, something about being checked by a moderator first? Why is that?
Last night I have answered eyetrip, my post still is not there, now I have answered deuse, let see if it'll appear.
I am 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 ft away from the monitor, any further and I won't be able to read small text. Only 1 DVI and 1 VGA connection on my old computer.

Have only ever used mine from a distance (use more as tele than monitor, so not right on top of it) until I thought I would try it as a main monitor tonigh, to see if I could live without 2560x1440p IPS.

That's when I really noticed those faint lines for the very first time. I think what we are seeing is the coating (or whatever it is) that is used for polarising between left/right.

Not sure am explaining this very well, but at the end of the day, I'm not sure it's a settings issue.

I like the screen and enjoy gaming on 3D on it, but I wouldn't recommend it as a monitor to people. It really is designed more as a tele.

I usually stand at between 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 ft away, further than that and I won't be able to read any texts. And yes, the lines are quite faint but I know they are there and I am looking for them when I think I can't see them. It does get on my nerves.
Some people don't seem to see them, that's why I thought it might be remedied with some settings.

I am 5-6ft away from the monitor and also connected by dvi-hdmi(GTX 295) and no lines.

How far away from the monitor are you and have you tried another dvi port?

I have posted after eyetrip but my post don't seem to have appeared in the thread. I don't know why. Something about being checked first with an administrator? Why is that?
I am 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 ft away from the monitor, as I am using it with my pc. Any further away and I won't be able to read the small texts. Only 1 DVI and 1 VGA on my pc, which is quite old (5 years old) but still going strong.

No I can't. I don't know anyone who has a pc where I can try the monitor with neither. They all have oldish pcs or laptops/netbooks.
That's why I was counting on some people having this monitor to give me some pointers, as I am not sure if it can be remedied or not. Some seems to have returned the monitor as faulty or just put up with it, others don't see any lines.
My graphics card is a GEforce 7600GT and has the latest updates. 3D seems to work alright with it.
