I'm wondering if anyone can help me with something. I've received an LG Flatron 34UC97-S yesterday which is lovely to say the least however I'm having problems with the USB ports (may or may not be an actual problem).

As a thunderbolt display I was expecting to be able to use the USB ports (iPhone, etc) on the back of the display and the data to be sent via Thunderbolt to the computer (I'm docking a MBPr in a Henge dock so apart from the one USB on the right side have none available on the computer). However this doesn't seem to work. All the monitor ports seem to be able to cope with are very low powered items (charges a Lumo Lift fine).

Am I wrong to expect the display USB to be accessible to the computer? I've tried LG support but they seem to think I'm confused between Thunderbolt and USB ports and that I should be putting a thunderbolt cable in the thunderbolt port (I've not bothered to tell them you can't get a Thunderbolt cable in a USB port!). I rephrased my question to them, but in meantime would be grateful if anyone has any ideas or can set my perceptions straight?

Thanks in advance,

Adam
