Hello everyone! I came here to seek help regarding an audio sync problem with my new LG HT554PH 5.1 Home Theatre system.
I am using the internal DVD player and I'm really happy with the sound / picture quality but when I listen to DVDs through the HT 5.1 speakers the audio sync is out.
However, if I mute the HT system and listen to the sound through the TV speakers (LG32LH5000) the audio sync is fine. I definitely know something is wrong because if I listen to the DVD with both the TV speakers AND the HT speakers, there is a weird echo effect.
Here is how I have things currently setup:
HT Optical to TV Optical
HT to TV via HDMI
PS3 to TV via HDMI
PC to TV via HDMI
Anyone else having / had this problem? I have tried new HDMI cables, optical cables etc... I tried adjusting the "AV Sync" value within the HT settings page but it only makes it worse.
Both the LG HT554PH and LG32LH5000 are available together as a package deal... good reviews so far too, so perhaps I am just unlucky and have a defective unit? I have of course googled the issue and contacted LG. I have found one person with the same HT system and problem but no one has replied to his post yet.
