LG IPS234V noise when in standby

So i've had my IPS234V for a month now. And it is fantastic.

However. I have a small problem for which I was wondering if its solvable.

In use the monitor makes no sound.

However when in power saving mode (standby). It makes an on and off (every 2 seconds) weird whiny noise. Its not really high pitched. Just whiney. It's annoying. Guess its probably the transformer. The only way to stop it is to switch off at mains when not using it or to manually turn the monitor completly off with the buttons on the bottem.

Its not too loud but loud enough to not be able to read a book or sleep whilst the monitor is in standby etc.

Any advice?

Do I just have to live with it? Or is a fault with the monitor? etc.

Whats the monitor like for gaming if you dont mind me asking? I currently considering buying 3 of these for surround vision.

Sorry for the hijack but if you don't ask you don't get ay..??

yer think it is to do with the transformer. Doesn't seem to like only output only a little bit of power (for standby). Guess i'm guna have to live with it unless anyone has any other suggestions. Might try to sound proof the transformer as it not inside the monitor it is a small box on the power cable (for monitor thinness)

To the guy above. It is fantastic for my needs. Use it for loads of different things. Gaming/films/video editing and generally work (word/excel etc). Response time is low enough to not notice and colors are as good as any other eIPS monitor.

Try moving the transformer away from the monitor as much as possible.

Go careful with sound proofing the transformer - by insulating it you could make it overheat.
