Any ideas if OcUK will get these in? I've just read a review in PC Pro and it got the 'A-List' award. Needing to buy a new monitor and thought I'd go for a 20"+ and the LG also seems go value.
 
the L204WT is a TN Film model from the stocks I've seen abroad. It's using a CPT TN Film panel which is obvsiously a fair bit different to the panel used in the Dell 2007WFP.

specs match the latest LG.Philips panel (LM201WE3-TN) but reports from people who have received the screen show it uses a CPT TN Film panel (CLAA201WA03). in fact LG confirmed to me it can be supplied with either panel, but at the moment it looks like the CPT stock is being shipped, posisbly due to the fact the LG.Philips panel is so new

Which is better? I'd be happy to order one soon if the price is right plus depending which panel.
 
well TN Film characteristics should be pretty similar, not much has been seen of the LG.Philips 20"WS TN panel so it's hard to say, but i doubt there would be much difference in real use between those two particular panels
 
I have the L203WT atm, model before the 04 obviously :p

Anyway I love it, and it looks amazing - probably the best spent cash on my PC setup this year, no doubt the 04 is a quality build.
 
Anyone seen a review of this monitor anywhere? Been trying to program on my current 1280*1024 screen and just can't get enough code on the screen when I have multiple source files open, which is really frustrating, so I'm looking at something higher res. I know this (L204WT) is TN, but a 20" widescreen 1680*1050 screen for around £210-220 seems like great value.

It's also quoted as having 2000:1 contrast ratio, which if true, would mean a black depth of around 0.15 cd/m2 which is like 3 times darker than I've heard of TN screens managing before. Maybe some high contrast coating (something like Sony's X-Black) is responsible, or maybe it's altering the backlight on the fly like the NEC WS.

I found one user review describing the black levels as follows-

Looks like the only weakness then is TN viewing angles. Hard to complain though at this price and with DVI.
 
I have the LG L204WT and i think it is a great monitor for the price.

The only problem with it is the viewing angles for prue white colours. if you go to high they get a slight green tinge.

As i sit right infront of the monitor all the time its no a problem. Also i found movie playback to be good, its looks great from my bed to the desk.

I can get some photos if anyone is interested.

Problem is we have little dealing with LG so normally getting a decent price is very hard and LG panels are sold at the other Etailors normally at low margin.

What price are people seeing on this elsewhere and I will have a look around to see if we can get anything but no promises.

On the other hand how does this compare to the Belinea 20"? Surely the Belinea is superior because it uses the AUO panel?

I wouldn't mind seeing some shots of the viewing angles if it's not too much trouble. Something like 45 degrees left, 45 degrees above and 80 degrees above, so I can compare with my current screen. Thanks in advance if you can, but no worries if you don't get round to it :)

Gibbo is spot on, the MVA in the Belinea does offer better viewing angles and a 24-bit panel, and I'm sure more accurate colours, but assuming you want a DVI then the 102035W is £40 dearer, and the LG is faster and has the dynamic contrast mode (assuming it's effective). So there's points in favour of each. From a value for money point of view, the LG L204WT, Philips 200W6CS, Belinea 102035W and 102030W are all very close and I'd have a hard time choosing between them. Maybe even add the Acer AL2216W into the mix.

It's great to see widescreen TFTs with high res screens so accessibly priced now :D
