lol, i bet you are trying to fit the "stand body" to the "monitor body".
i've had no problem fitting the "stand body" to the "stand base", but for the top part, i simply used brute force.
1. hold the monitor with my both hand, put the stand body into the socket, and make sure it doesn't come off when you live the monitor up
2. i swing the monitor body, towards my soft carpet, making sure the stand body contacts the carpet vertically.
3. after 3 to 4 bumps. it went in

LOL yeah I found that putting the stand together was fairly stiff too. I was having to put so much force on it that I worried I was going to break it. Basically if you just trust the instructions and exert enough force it will clip into place.
