Hi, can anybody tell me what the output - top left in the photo is?

It's a USB 3 input. That's where you connect a cable that runs to one of the PC's USB ports, so the monitor's USB ports can function.

Oh right, thanks. Is it a different connection to a normal usb. Looks square.

You need a USB type A to USB type B 3.0 cable, one may have been provided with the monitor. Here is a link to one on here:-https://www.overclockers.co.uk/akas...ter-cable-150cm-ak-cbub01-15bk-cb-052-ak.html so you know what you're looking for.
