LG OLED 2022 Thread - A2, B2, C2, G2

I guess if you have a large family it's not always possible to watch the TV dead-on.

But it's just me and my wife , so the TV will always be in an optimal place.
I suppose the size and shape is the biggest issue. If you've got a galley style living room, it's going to be more likely you have to sit at an angle.

That is a nice increase from my C9 for hdr gaming. Appreciate those numbers more as not calibrated (though appreciate others prefer calibrated for even playing field) either for hdr which tbh I don't either.

Can't wait now apparently a week away now and should start shipping :D

Right then you lot, I'm at a point now where I can order up the new 42 inch C2. Before I commit is there anything I should be aware of? This different panel thing? Do I need to worry about it? Is it worth the upgrade from a Phillips 42 inch 4k led monitor at 60htz? I'll be plugging a 3090 and ps5 into it

There is a while 42" thread in monitor section which will give you more info. In a nutshell no you do not need to be bothered by the panel bit. Its a non-issue as EVO never meant a specific panel. Only caveat is price I suppose for some being a steep premium and gone up in price amusingly, also if I recall you mentioned people paying this much were mental in the 42" thread ;). 3090 will pair amazingly with it as will PS5.

Yes it should absolutely look better then what is likely a low end 42" TV as I am not aware of any brand putting there best tech into 42" LCD panels let along all the other things OLED brings to to the table (120hz, VRR, perfect blacks etc)

Yea I did but I've just had a decent tax rebate that sort of makes up for it. Cheers for the info!

G2 review

Nothing too surprising, but one thing I did not expect was the image retention comparison, the G2 was able to clear the shadow from a max brightness white box much quicker than the Samsung QD-OLED.

I also did not expect the QD-OLED would have any image retention, given how confident Samsung has been on burn in it seems the technology is actually not immune to it

Has anyone on here got a G2 yet or seen any indication of them coming out to end users? Getting antsy waiting for mine! Should be a small but nice upgrade from the C9 in most cases I think with size being main reason.

I did read last week that they are expected in the UK around the 14th of this month. Looking forward to getting a 77 inch G2 when they get here.
