I did this for my OLED but will work on all LG OLED. It is for those who want to try and do not want to wait for firmware fix roll out next month

LG OLED B9 Firmware update how to,this is extremely stupid thing to do.Do not attempt unless your willing to risk your TV bricking or not being able to update firmware until firmware number surpasses engineering number if it ever does.

Switching to user mode to engineering mode in the service menu is not to be taking lightly. You need to be able to access the instart menu.

Remote control method

1. You will need a remote control that have the codes to send to your LG B9 TV(Harmony remote,LG Factory Service Remote Control or similar)

2. With LG Factory Service Remote Control

3. Press the instart command on the LG Factory Service Remote Control

4. Now you need to input a code on your tv. Input 0413 with the LG Factory Service Remote Control

5. Navigate to system 2 and change from user to engineer in NSU (dont touch anything else!,do not hit exit ever)

6. Exit the service menu with the instart button again(Whatever button you touch first on the LG Factory Service Remote Control you need to use the same button to get out of menu)

7. To have the change active restart LG TV.After restart update normally when in engineer mode, eventually it will come up

8. Turn the TV back to user after updating(Steps 2-6 again)

9. You need to turn off the tv and the pc completely . Power down, unplug the plug and de-energize TV and PC by pressing power button, before G-sync works correctly

Phone with ir blaster and app(not all models of phones with ir blaster work, check app for phones that work

1. Any app on a phone with ir blaster that is compatible with the phone and lets you add commands(anymote app)

2, With phone manually add theinstart command thru the app

3. Activate the instart command on the IR phone

4. Now you need to input a code on your tv. Input 0413 with the LG magic remote for TV

5. Navigate to system 2 and change from user to engineer in NSU (dont touch anything else!)

6. Exit the service menu with the instart button again

I would like to get a service remote but have pretty much zero knowledge in this respect.

Would someone be so kind to link one thats compatible with a C9.

PS - Don't think this counts as featuring competitors as Overclockers don't sell this product or type of product.

anymote didn't work so I paid £1.69 for an app just called LG service remote. Worked instantly. Took 4 days before the tv reported a new firmware and installed it in engineer mode but I'm ready!

Did this last week and does work.
Awesome,it is nice to have the TV finally working as intended

Well I can list a remote that works.

I tried anymote but the phone with ir blaster was not supported by anymote,so I ended up buying a remote.

If you disable auto updates beforehand and then check manually it fetches it straight away.

I am still on the old firmware for C9. I have ordered a 3080 from overclockers but it won't be arriving till December as the card isn't even released yet.
I have read a fair bit of the AVS Forum posts and have heard of some issues but the vast majority of people are saying it works as intended.

What are the issues? And what's your setup? Is it HDMI 2.1 cable direct from GPU to TV?

Maybe some of you are aware of the GSync stutter issue plaguing the LG CX televisions as reported in John Archer's article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/johnar...oled-tv-nvidia-rtx-30-glitch/?sh=452b63a8314b

Anways, I received a service remote this week and I placed my LG CX in Engineering mode to check to see if there is a "beta" update available. Fortunately, my television has fetched one (v. 03.11.30), but it will only get to about 5% progress, tell me it cannot apply the update, and then it reverts.

Any ideas on what else I can try to have the update apply successfully?
