Hi folks - my Google-Fu hasn't really found anything concrete on this, so I thought I'd reach out here.
Had an LG OLED55CX5LB for about 8 months now, and on a number of occasions the following has happened - my HDMI signal drops out momentarily to my Amp (playing PS5 at the time), sometimes I will then get the white LG HDMI icon appear before the cursor then shows and everything resumes ok.... but!
If I press the Home key on the remote (or app), the bar running along the bottom of the screen doesn't show - but the cursor appears as though I am ready to select something. It seems to [possibly] be linked to apps updating on the TV - as today's incident resulted in a popup saying Amazon Video had updated, and prompted me to add it as a favourite, which I could then back out of.
I powered the TV down (via remote) for 5 minutes or so, but the app/program menu was still missing - the only fix was to completely power the TV off at the mains.
I have tried resetting the TV back to defaults several times, to no avail - I guess I can look at stopping the automatic update to apps, but it seems like a daft issue to have; also not having a reboot in the menus is also a bit ****.
Anyone else had such a problem?
I should also add, that the same issue happened when I had the PS5 directly connected to one of the TV's HDMI ports, and the sound to the Amp via ARC - so I'm not convinced it's my Amp at fault, or PS5.
Thanks folks
