I can pick up one of these for £1000 which is an ex-display model though comes with 1 year warranty.

I haven't delved into TV research much since I picked up my LG Plasma 8 years ago. I'm looking to upgrade that as it uses ~350W and would like some 4K goodness.

Checking Which?, the C9 comes top of their TV reviews though I was wondering if it has been superseded by anything significantly better in picture etc.

Thanks. I still have the right of return if I'm not happy with it so what issues should I look out? Screen burn in etc?

PS. It's been on display for max of 2 months apparently.

I would rather pickup a CX or BX both of which you can still grab discounted. Both would likely come with a long warranty. Not because the C9 is bad (not at all) but the lack of longer term warranty, the fact it is an ex display and the discount not being enough to sway me (personally).

Thanks for the feedback folks. I'm not too fussed about the 1 year warranty as I have previously managed to get a 4 year TV replaced that went faulty even though it only had a 1 year warranty - it's kind of implied in UK consumer law though it can be a battle to get it sorted.

I will probably get it as it's simple for me to pop in the service menu to see how many hours it has really been on and I can do some burn in tests. If it's not up to scratch I'll send it back but If it all passes muster then I will take it as the cheapest 65" CX I can see is £1600.

with older pre cx I'd be checking whether noise in shadow detail for low bitrate streaming services is ok for you ,
like watching some of the walking dead dark scenes (were the noise problems exacerbated during covid bitrate reductions).

I've not heard of any hardware/software problems with panasonic oled's and will consider one of their online refurbs when the time comes.

Thanks for info all. I've had it for a couple weeks and all tests show it to be working great and no issues. Checking the service menu it had 720 hours on it. I got it for £800 in the end which for me made it a decent deal.

Watching 4K HDR content like Zak Snyders Justice League and Altered Carbon does look excellent, though I will calibrate it properly down the road at some time even if the default settings do a pretty good job.
