Right an engineer just came to fix our sky and I mentioned that I was looking to get a HDTV. Straight away he recommended the 32LC2D. He started going on about it converting normal analogue TV into HD. Is this true? Anyone got this TV? If so how good is it?

Would you reccomend it over other HD TV's at this price/size point?

All LCD and Plasma TV's will scale non-native to native resolution, it's just the quality of processing involved for each TV that's important.

I did have a LG, if I recall correctly the XD feature seemed more like contrast/sharpness enhancment.

yeah it is but its probably the best picture processing engine around.

XD Technology takes analogue signals to near HD levels by improving brightness, contrast, detail and enhancing color as well as reducing signal noise. In practice however, it's a small improvement over other LCD tv's but it does make some difference. LG make good telly's, i've had the 32LX2R for a while now and it's very nice. Bit small for my living room so i'm looking at upgrading in the new year.
