Have had my LG UltraGear 32GQ950 for about a month now and have experienced a mixed bag with HDR performance, I use Potplayer for my playback, and it is a great little bit of software. Recently watched Silo season 2 and the HDR implementation on the monitor was truly awful, totally washed out scenes, rapid changes in lighting, even though the scene wasn't changing, overall the experience was a terrible one. I followed it up with Star Trek Section 31, that was a regrettable experience for an entirely different reason, the use of HDR on this was really enjoyable, shame about the storyline, acting, pretty much everything. Am now enjoying 3 Body Problem, and started to mess around with some of the deeper secrets buried in Potplayer's menu, under Pixel Shaders I found SMPTE ST 2086 HDR Correction, enabling this made a very noticeable improvement. Scenes don't look as washed out in low lighting and colours seem a little better too, it might be something worth trying out.
